Bed inventory... 08.25.2009

I crawled into Grace's bed this afternoon and this is what I found:
22 books (all sizes),
13 small stuffed animals,
1 purse/stuffed animal,
1 doll,
9 blankets,
1 pillow and
2 sandals
this was over and above the standard pillow, sheet and blanket...


The books had to go, they are to hard to lay on...

Otherwise we had a great time playing with almost everything....

First Big Boo Boo's

Grace fell and skinned both knees for the first time... When I went to get her to go to bad she said, "Mommy, carry me I have boo boo's with band aids..." She seems to think that when you have band aids your legs no longer work, this has been going on for sometime... She is hilarious after she gets a shot...

Baby Bearism's

Baby Bearism's : ABC....Double XYZ, "Two motor duckies" (for those who do not speak toddler that is two motor cycles), chu chu plane, more to come I am sure...

No light on! Light Off!... Back in bed! Back in bed!

Grace has progressed from pre-schooler to teenager over night. "No light on! Light off! .... Back in bed! Back in Bed!"...

Grace is more and more like Ellie Grace every day!

Primrose

How far into the "why" phase has she gotten? H asked the occassional " why" THEN.....she turned 3! I think that this is the revenge that my mother always talked about. I always swore that I would do my best to answer all of my child's "why's" without the unhelpful "because...just because". Now, I am sorry that I ever thought that! "Why? Why? Why? hmmmm but ... WHY?!"

Daddy

She hasn't started the why's yet, but I am sure it's coming soon.

Scott, it was like a switch went off on her 3rd birhtday!

Mommy

Prim the switch was turned on last weekend... We are getting more and more complex questions and rebukes: like - No Mommy Daddies eyes are black not brown...or at a stop light when asked what do we do at red lights - Daddy's car does not go...

Someone's wearing big girl panties....

Santa gave Grace some big girl panties for Christmas... and today was the first day she wore them...

We put them on after her nap. I think she was real proud because once I put them on she walked right over to the mirror to admire them.

She did real well for the first few hours. She had her first accident while watching Nemo. Scott and I where in the back and she walked in and said "I am all wet?"

Santa was so smart he brought Grace Elmo panties, he's her favorite character.

We've been reading books and watching video for the past few months. But ever time we went to the store and I showed the panties to Grace and asked her if she wanted any she said "No".

The NEW I-phone...

While putting Grace to bed tonight I had to remind her that she could not go to bed with her I-phone... You know the brand new super secret toddler sized clear I-phone.... So we put it on her dresser, I can not wait to see if she asks for it in the morning... November 19,2009

Scott said "Worry when she starts listening to music on... worry more if *you* can hear it."

Potty Books - What where you thinking???

Could someone please tell me why potty story books: #1 - Show the child poo poon'g next to the potty??? #2 - Show the CHILD emptying the potty into the toilet??? #3 - One of them even show the child presenting the potty to the Mommy, why??? Leave the darn thing on the floor thank you... That being said Grace is doing wonderfully well in her training...

Laura - Grace is doing so well! Did you wrap the potty like a gift??? Some of those illustrations don't help, do they?

Karen G - Are you serious? I mean seriously... that is kind of weird. But Laura is right... Grace is doing very well. I image it takes a long time to learn that skill.

Sarah - so very true! .... and yes, diaper wipes continue to be useful... as long as it is clear, THEY DO NOT GO IN THE POTTY! thank goodness, T has learned that, he even corrected me once when I accidentally threw one in! It is harder now that he gets one himself if I am not fast enough...

We won a photo session with a local children's photographer...

Grace and I won a photo session this past Spring... We finally had our photo session on June 30th... These are a few shots from that day... Notice the traditional purple dress... This is the same dress that Grace wore in China... I grabbed the wrong hanger the morning of the shot and did not realize my mistake until I took the dress off. I was shocked...
